Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery to provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to patients throughout the labor, delivery, antepartum, and postpartum periods.

The RN will assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, perform therapeutic nursing interventions, collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team, and provide evidence-based nursing care while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients and identify nursing needs and priorities.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care based on initial and ongoing assessments.
• Provide nursing care to patients in Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and Postpartum settings.
• Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with patient care.
• Monitor patients throughout labor and delivery and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
• Provide appropriate newborn care.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions according to patient needs and established standards.
• Assist with procedures and provide nursing support in the Operating Room (OR) when required.
• Evaluate patient responses to treatment and modify nursing care as appropriate.
• Document patient care accurately and in accordance with professional standards.
• Advocate for evidence-based nursing practices and support innovations in care delivery.
• Provide patient- and family-centered care consistent with professional nursing standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Maintain patient safety, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Experience

• 1+ year of experience in the related specialty required.
• 5 years of experience preferred.
• Experience required in:
  • Labor & Delivery
  • Postpartum
  • Antepartum
  • Newborn care
  • Operating Room (OR)

Required Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required.
• BSN preferred.
• Advanced AWHONN or EFM education/qualification required.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• BLS – AHA required
• NRP required
• Active New Jersey RN license OR Multi-State Compact RN license required
• ACLS preferred
• All required licenses and certifications must be active and current throughout the assignment.
