Job Summary
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift travel assignment in Glencoe, Minnesota. The RN will provide comprehensive maternal and newborn care throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery in a fast-paced acute care environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, excellent obstetric nursing skills, and the ability to confidently manage both routine and high-risk labor and delivery cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients during all stages of childbirth
- Continuously monitor maternal vital signs and fetal heart rate patterns
- Assist physicians and OB providers during labor, delivery, and postpartum care
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and pain management interventions as ordered
- Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies including fetal distress and hemorrhage
- Educate and support patients and families throughout the labor and delivery process
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in EMR
- Maintain patient safety and adherence to obstetric nursing protocols
- Collaborate with OB physicians, anesthesiologists, neonatal staff, and interdisciplinary teams
- Provide postpartum recovery care and support breastfeeding initiation and bonding
- Maintain compliance with infection control standards and hospital safety guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Previous Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Strong obstetric assessment and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Strong EMR documentation proficiency
