Our current career opportunities include day and night shift. Day shifts are from 6:00am to 6:00 pm and night shifts are 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, working a rotating schedule of 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, and 2 off which will include weekends and holidays that come up during the rotation. If you join our team, you'll enjoy the following responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care to clients who have substance abuse and co-occurring needs; help facilitate our clients' improvement and recovery.
Serve as a mentor to Licensed Practical Nurses to ensure that all medical documentation and medical care requirements are met.
Work in conjunction with pharmacist regarding medication oversight and destruction of medication.
Review medical charts, both open and closed, to ensure compliance.
Communicate with multi-disciplinary staff and leaders to report any concerns or problems.
Ensure nursing policies and procedures meet the Louisiana Department of Health regulations and The Joint Commission standards.
Assist in training new nurses and assist with ongoing training.
Help ensure nursing shifts are covered.
Along with other employees, implement continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
You must have the following education, skills and experience to be considered:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
Proven experience as a registered nurse with excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and patient care.
Previous experience in addiction treatment or behavioral health is a plus.
Ability to positively interact and develop rapport with patients and their families, professional support staff and other team members.
In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination, etc.) and willingness to follow them always.
Great computer skills including solid understanding of how to use an Electronic Medical Record system (EMR), email programs, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally.
High energy with engaging personality and compassionate care.
Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
