Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry to provide comprehensive nursing care in a major acute-care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong MS/Telemetry background, excellent cardiac monitoring skills, and experience caring for medically complex patients.

The RN will assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, monitor patient conditions, provide education, and collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and identify care priorities.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Provide nursing care to Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients.
• Continuously monitor patients using telemetry and other cardiac monitoring systems.
• Perform and interpret EKGs as appropriate.
• Recognize and respond to changes in cardiac and clinical status.
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately.
• Provide wound care and post-procedural nursing care.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions based on patient needs.
• Monitor patient response to treatments and interventions.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Assist with discharge planning and care coordination.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Advocate for evidence-based nursing practices.
• Provide patient-centered care while maintaining safety, dignity, and confidentiality.
• Demonstrate strong critical-thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
• Adapt to changing patient acuity and workload.
• Float to other MS/Telemetry units, overflow areas, or ED holds as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit required.
• Experience must be in a major acute-care hospital setting.
• Strong MS/Telemetry background required.
• Experience with:

Preferred: More than 3 years of relevant experience.

Required Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active RN license — New Jersey RN license or Multi-State Compact license
• BLS – AHA
• ACLS – AHA
• NIHSS
• Telemetry certification/credential
• Stroke education/4-hour stroke training (STROKE4)
• IV certification/competency as required
• All licenses and certifications must be active and current.
