Registered Nurse (RN), Oncology

An Oncology/Hematology Nurse is a professional RN who provides quality nursing care to the Oncology/Hematology patient in accordance with recognized nursing techniques, procedure established standards and policies of Penn Highlands Tyrone. The nurse is responsible for the administration of direct and indirect patient care of the oncology/hematology patient using nursing process, scientific principles, and nurse practice act. The oncology nurse is responsible for monitoring the oncology/hematology patients condition, developing care plans, developing symptom management protocols and administering medications to treat the oncology/hematology patient. The nurse works closely with the other healthcare providers to provide the patient with optimal care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License required
• At least one year of Medical-Surgical experience within the past 5 years required
• Oncology experience preferred
• Previous experience in care and maintenance of various central lines such as Infusaports, PICC lines, and Broviac catheters along with competent IV skills.
• ONCC Certificate preferred within 5 years of hire date
