Summary of Position Functions: Assists in administering the centers Health and Wellness Services Plan Major Duties and Responsibilities: * Oversee scheduling of sick call, infirmary coverage, environmental health, as well as physical and dental exams in accordance with DOL guidelines. * Inspect the food service facility and dormitories regularly. * Develop and maintain an inventory control system for medication, equipment, and medical supplies. * Conduct inventories of supplies and medications monthly. * Purchase medication and medical supplies. * Participate in nurses on-call rotation. * Function as a staff nurse as needed. * Collect data and maintain wellness monthly Utilization Reports. * Plan, organize, and control the use of overtime and on-call staff to ensure compliance with Center and ETR policy and procedures. Note: This job description is not all inclusive. Employees will perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Skills and Competencies: * Proven ability to lead and support a team * Thorough knowledge of nursing techniques and practices * Knowledge of current state and federal laws regulating health care and patient privacy (HIPPA) * Strong organizational skills and communication skills both verbal and written * Familiarity with medical needs of young adults * Meticulous documentation/recording skills and attention to detail with excellent time management skills * Ability to multi-task in a fast-changing environment * Proficient using a computer software which includes Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.) Educational Requirements: * State Licensed Registered Nurse. * Three years experience as a practicing nurse; one of which was in a lead capacity. * Must possess a Valid NYS Drivers License with an acceptable driving record.
