Registered Nurse (RN)

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Correctional Facility
Location: Pahrump, Nevada
Contract Duration:8 Weeks(Auto Offer)
Shift:Night Shift
Guaranteed Hours:36 hours per week(Must have open availability per facility scheduling policy)

Important Requirements:

• Active RN License required

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

• US Citizenship and Social Security Card required for facility clearance

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferred

• Valid Driver's License required

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to inmates/residents in a correctional healthcare setting

• Administer medications, conduct pill call, and document according to facility policy

• Assist Licensed Independent Providers (physicians/NPs/Client) with examinations and treatment

• Conduct medical assessments for new or ill inmates/residents and determine need for higher level care

• Respond to medical emergencies and perform necessary emergency procedures

• Monitor hospitalizations and coordinate care with outside providers

• Supervise and guide LPN/LVN and medical support staff

• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records

• Provide health education and counseling to inmates/residents

• Ensure compliance with correctional healthcare regulations and policies

Additional Duties:

• Monitor medication use and ensure pharmacy compliance with formulary and controlled substance laws

• Inspect medical units for contraband risks and safety concerns

• Assist with medical documentation, reports, and audits

• Coordinate inmate movement for medical appointments and treatments

• Support emergency response, safety protocols, and facility security procedures
