Atrium Health Kings Mountain 2 North/Progressive Care is a 33-bed medical-surgical and progressive care combined unit providing care for adult patients with a diverse range of acute medical conditions. Our patient population commonly includes pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, heart failure, chest pain, stroke, acute kidney injury, diabetes-related complications, electrolyte imbalances, infections, and other complex medical diagnoses. As the highest level of inpatient care at our hospital, our nurses develop strong clinical judgement through early recognition of changes in patient condition, close collaboration with providers, and timely coordination of transfers when a higher level of care is needed. Our nurses work alongside physicians, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation services, care management, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
We are committed to building a culture where teamwork is intentional, communication is respectful, and every teammate feels supported to grow both personally and professionally. We believe exceptional patient care begins with a strong team, and we strive to create an environment where accountability, compassion, curiosity, and continuous learning are valued every day.
