Registered Nurse - Acute Care
Schedule
Shift: Nights, 4x12 (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Requirements
- NY RN license
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- NIHSS certification (valid NIH required with submission)
- Minimum 2 years RN experience
- Travel experience
- Community hospital experience
- Trauma Level I experience
- Experience managing Med/Surg ratios (1:5-1:7)
- EPIC experience required
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with acute stroke and neurological disorders.
- Monitor and manage cardiac rhythms and participate in Rapid Response/Code teams.
- Administer IV therapy and perform phlebotomy as needed.
- Support respiratory care initiatives, including administering oxygen and managing airway devices.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety protocols.
Compliance / Notes
- Orientation: 12 hours
- Background checks: Reviewed case-by-case
- COVID-19 vaccine: Not required; Flu vaccine: unknown
- Return-staff policy: 6 months system-wide
- RTO restriction: Cannot submit candidates with >10 days RTO
