Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) PCU/Telemetry to join a high-acuity cardiac unit at Barberton Campus. This role involves caring for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring, including those on cardiac drips and stroke overflow cases.
The ideal candidate is a strong, adaptable nurse comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and floating between units as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU/Telemetry patients
Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage cardiac drips
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
Document patient information using EPIC EHR (recent experience required)
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
Float to other units as required
Maintain patient safety and adhere to hospital protocols
Unit Details
34-bed Cardiac PCU/Telemetry unit
Includes stroke overflow patients
Patient Ratio: 1:4 (occasionally 1:5)
High-acuity, fast-paced environment
Minimum Qualifications
Education
ASN or BSN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Licensure
Active RN license (Ohio or compact state)
Experience
Minimum 2+ years of RN experience
Strong experience in PCU, Telemetry, or Cardiac care
Experience managing cardiac drips required
Required Certifications
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
NIH Stroke Certification
Skills & Competencies
Strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring skills
Ability to manage high-acuity patients
Proficiency in EPIC EHR system (within last 12 months required)
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making ability
Additional Requirements
Must be willing to float between units
Maximum 7 days RTO allowed at submission
No block scheduling requests accepted
Solid black scrubs required
EPIC experience within the last year is mandatory
Compliance & Health Requirements
Background check and drug screening
Immunizations: COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap
TB screening (PPD or IGRA)
Fit test and health clearance documentation
Completion of facility-specific competency exams and checklists
