JOB SUMMARY: The Recovery Room (PACU) Registered Nurse provides comprehensive post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural interventions. This role is responsible for continuous patient assessment, monitoring vital signs, managing airways, pain control, and responding to post-operative complications to ensure safe recovery. The PACU RN collaborates closely with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and the perioperative team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining a calm, efficient, and safety-focused environment. QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed to practice in the state of Oklahoma. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Able to take call 3pm to 7am weekdays and 24-hour call on weekends on rotation. Must be able to respond to SMC within 30 minutes when on call. Current BLS card or completion within 30 days of employment. Current ACLS certification or completion within 6 months of employment preferred. Current PALS certification or completion within 6 months of employment preferred. Basic Computer knowledge. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking, standing, and dealing with stressful situations. Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to read and write. Able to hear, or correctable with hearing devices, and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the phone. Able to hear, see, and feel to accurately assess, monitor, and administer care. Able to frequently lift at least 60 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel. Possesses fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care (i.e.: insert catheters, start IVs, administer medications, and handle instruments).
