Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Healthcare

Position Overview

CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for full-time travel assignments at a state behavioral health facility in Evanston, Wyoming. This role provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in an inpatient psychiatric setting, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary treatment teams to deliver evidence-based care and support positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, including physical, psychological, and social evaluations for patients admitted to inpatient psychiatric units

- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team

- Administer medications, including psychotropic medications, and monitor patients for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions

- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support for patients experiencing acute behavioral health episodes

- Document all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record system

- Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, and patient responses to treatment, escalating concerns to the appropriate provider

- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication management, and discharge planning

- Participate in treatment team meetings, contributing clinical observations and recommendations for patient care

- Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations governing psychiatric nursing care and patient safety

- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and Direct Support Professionals on the unit

Required Qualifications

- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Wyoming (or compact state license accepted in Wyoming)

- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) minimum; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a behavioral health, psychiatric, or acute care setting

- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

- Ability to pass a comprehensive federal and state background check, including fingerprinting

- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher

- ANCC Board Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMH-BC or RN-BC)

- Previous travel nursing experience in behavioral health or state hospital settings

- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or similar de-escalation certification

- Experience with trauma-informed care models and evidence-based psychiatric nursing practices

- Familiarity with Wyoming Board of Nursing regulations and state behavioral health standards

Compensation and Benefits

- Annual Salary: $98,800 to $119,600, commensurate with experience and qualifications
