    Passport Health - Registered Nurse - Travel Medicine
     
    This isn't a traditional nursing role - and that's exactly the point.
     
    Passport Health is North America's largest travel medicine and immunization provider, with 300+ clinics across the U.S. and Canada. We're looking for experienced RNs ready to step out of a high-pressure hospital or traditional clinic setting and into a role built around autonomy, specialized expertise, and genuine one-on-one patient connection.

    Most of our nurses work independently - no charge nurse, no team overhead, no endless task lists. You manage your day around your clients and deliver the best experience possible, backed by a network of clinical leadership when you need it.
     
    Travel medicine is a specialty. You'll build deep expertise in vaccine-preventable diseases, international health risks, and pre-travel planning — knowledge most nurses never get the chance to develop. Every client interaction is a real consultation, not a check-the-box encounter.
     
    Current Opening
    • Location: Albany, NY
    • Compensation: $50.00/hr 
    • Schedule: Part-time, 24 hours per week. The position provides coverage during Monday–Friday office hours, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. A schedule of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday is preferred, with flexibility based on business needs.
    What You'll Do
    • Conduct in-depth travel health consultations and educate clients on destination-specific risks
    • Administer vaccines per standing orders and monitor for adverse reactions
    • Recommend travel health products and medications as clinically appropriate
    • Manage clinic setup, inventory, and safety/documentation compliance
    • Support onsite corporate wellness or vaccine clinic events as needed
    • Complete ongoing travel medicine training - we invest in keeping your clinical knowledge current
    What You Need
    • Active RN license in good standing (compact/multistate accepted — must legally reside in your licensed state)
    • 3+ years of clinical nursing experience (travel medicine background a plus, not required)
    • Comfortable working independently
    • Strong patient communication and education skills
    • Reliable access to a personal computer and proficiency with Google Suite
    • Current First Aid/CPR certification
    • Ability to lift and transport vaccine inventory (up to 25 lbs)
    How Scheduling Works - We build schedules 6–12 months out so you have real visibility into your work life, not week-to-week guessing. Hours are shaped by client demand, which means they can vary by season - peak travel season (roughly February–August) tends to bring the highest, most consistent volume. Weekend availability and coverage flexibility are the fastest way to grow beyond your base hours.
