Registered Nurse (RN) - Vascular Access

• JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
  
  • The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate, direct and indirect patient care, while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
• DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
  
  • LCH Vascular Access Team provides care 24/7 by Registered Nurses with specialty training and or certification in Infusion Therapy. IV RN's are specialists in core areas of infusion therapy practice: technology and clinical applications, fluid and electrolyte balance, pharmacology, infection prevention and control, special populations, transfusion therapy, antineoplastic/biologic therapy, and parenteral nutrition. Care is provided to both inpatients and outpatients of all ages within the hospital.
• EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
  
  • Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required.
  • Healthcare Provider Level BLS required upon hire.
  • LCH Vascular Access Team :
    
    
    • ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
    • IV Therapy experience preferred.
    • PICC and midline proficiency preferred.
    • Chemotherapy experience preferred.
    • Infusion (CRNI) and/or Oncology (OCN) national certification preferred.
• KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Time Management: Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure.
  • Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues.
