Registered Nurse (RN) - Wilkes PACU (Surgical Services)

Where You Will Work:

The surgical services department includes 6 operating rooms, a dedicated C-Section suite, and 2 endoscopy procedure rooms. We provide care across multiple specialties, including Orthopedics, Urology, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Dental, and Gastroenterology. As a rural, community based hospital, our team fosters a close-knit, collaborative culture focused on delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while meeting the unique needs of the community we serve.

We're Looking For:

  • One year of PreOp/PACU strongly preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

What You'll Do:

  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Wilkes Medical Center, part of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Health, brings exceptional care to the heart of our community in North Wilkesboro, NC. Nestled in the beautiful foothills of Western NC, located approximately 60 miles from Winston-Salem and approximately 40 miles from Boone, our 130-bed rural, community hospital includes a 10-bed skilled nursing unit and offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including mother/baby, a state of the art critical care unit, surgical services, dialysis services, Diagnostic Imaging Center, and Wound Healing Center - all backed by the expertise of a nationally recognized academic medical center.
