Base Pay: $33.25-$43.65 per hour (based on experience)

Sumter Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care / Treatment Nurse to join our skilled nursing and rehabilitation team. This specialized nursing position focuses on wound care, skin integrity, and treatment management to promote healing and improve resident outcomes.
Working under the direction of the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing, the RN Treatment Nursewill provide expert wound care services while collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver exceptional resident-centered care.
Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care / Treatment Nurse Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive skin and wound assessments.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized wound care treatment plans.
- Provide wound care treatments according to physician orders and established clinical protocols.
- Coordinate and lead weekly skin and wound rounds.
- Monitor wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.
- Identify residents at risk for skin breakdown and implement preventative interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, dietitians, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Maintain accurate electronic nursing documentation and treatment records.
- Order, monitor, and manage wound care supplies and equipment.
- Educate residents, families, and staff on wound prevention, skin care, and treatment techniques.
- Mentor and educate nursing staff on wound care best practices.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and facility policies.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, post-acute care, or geriatric nursing preferred.
- Previous wound care or treatment nursing experience preferred.
- Wound Care Certification is preferred but not required. We will provide certification for the right candidate.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
