State Hospital West (SHW) in Nampa is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Sr to serve as the hospital's Infection Control / Employee Health Nurse. This position is responsible for leading hospital-wide infection prevention and control activities, supporting employee health initiatives, monitoring healthcare-associated infections, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Infection Control / Employee Health Nurse works collaboratively with nursing, medical staff, pharmacy, administration, and other departments to identify infection risks, implement prevention strategies, provide staff education, and support continuous quality improvement. The position also plays a lead role in the Antibiotic Stewardship Program (ASP) and the development and evaluation of the hospital's Infection Prevention and Control Plan and Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA).
Current Certification in Infection Control (CIC) through the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC), or the ability to obtain certification within three years of hire, is required.
This position is not eligible for telework.
The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace.
