Job Summary

Shift: Days

Job type: Part Time

Position Summary: Reporting to the Patient Care Services Director, the Shift Manager utilizes the nursing process and organizational/ leadership skills to coordinate services of staff to patients during the designated shift. Assures patient care is appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served. Assesses staff need for the unit, collaborates with the staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to ensure patients needs are met.

Responsibilities

Three to five years acute care experience or equivalent, RN skills as described for designated unit. Managerial Communications preferred.

License/Certificates/Credentials: California Registered Nursing license, BLS certification, ACLS certification, TCAR required within 12 months of hire/transfer . For current employees/transfers who have TNCC, TCAR must be obtained by October 1, 2019. Must obtain National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) education module within 6 months of hire or transfer into unit and must maintain thereafter.
