Job Summary:• This is a full-time, Monday–Friday opportunity working with adults with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
• This is an excellent opportunity for an RN looking for a consistent weekday schedule, no expected on-call responsibilities, and a community-based nursing environment where you can build meaningful relationships with the individuals you support.
• Prior IDD or OPWDD experience is helpful, but not required.
• RNs coming from adult care, geriatrics, community health, developmental disability services, and other patient-centered nursing settings are encouraged to apply.
What You'll Do:• Provide nursing care and oversight for adults with autism and other intellectual/developmental disabilities
• Assess medical concerns, illnesses, injuries, and changes in condition
• Develop, implement, and update individualized nursing care plans
• Coordinate appropriate medical follow-up and communicate with healthcare providers as needed
• Administer and oversee medications and maintain accurate medication records
• Maintain nursing documentation and individual medical records
• Collaborate with program supervisors, direct support professionals, LPNs, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and help coordinate each individual's healthcare needs
• Assist with medical appointments and follow-up when necessary
• Complete required incident and nursing documentation
• Support compliance with applicable OPWDD and program standards
Qualifications:• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Bachelor's degree/BSN required
• New York State driver's license preferred
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred, but not required
• OPWDD experience or knowledge is a plus
• Comfortable working with adults across a wide range of support needs and functional abilities
• Strong communication, assessment, documentation, and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team
