What You’ll Do
  • Provide expert nursing care to stroke and neuro patients, including those with CVA/TIA, post-surgical cases, and neurological emergencies
  • Monitor cardiac and neurological status via telemetry; accurately document patient progress
  • Administer titratable medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, and more (manager approval required to offer without specific experience)
  • Manage patients with chest tubes, tracheostomies, and perform lumbar drains in an acute care setting
  • Assist with patient assessments, implement care plans, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Support bedside procedures with support from in-house RT, hospitalists, and therapy teams
  • Follow hospital protocols for emergency response and documentation using Meditech Expanse EMR
What You Need
  • Valid Louisiana RN license or multi-state compact license
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience; neuro/stroke experience preferred
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certification required
  • Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
  • Strong clinical skills in telemetry monitoring, medication administration, and patient assessments
  • Flexibility to work night shifts and rotate weekends/holidays as scheduled
