Acts
as administrative link and supervises the overall provision of nursing care on
all inpatient disability units. In the absence of theDON, serves as a
resource. Collaborate with and support the Nurse Managers and Nursing
Supervisors, including engagement during off-shift hours. Will require working off-shift
hours as directed to ensure consistent employee support, leadership visibility,
and engagement across all shifts. Supervise and oversee Nursing Staffing
office. Provides supervision to employees; works
with Nursing Administration to plan, establish and assure achievement of
department goals, policies and procedures. Prepare for annual DOH Survey. Coordinates all nursing/patient activities;
collaborates with Infection Prevention Nurse, Staff Development Coordinator,
Nursing Performance Improvement Coordinator, MDS Coordinator and Director of
Quality/Outcome Management and other NAI’s as indicated. Direct line responsibility for projected and
immediate staffing, covers absences on all shifts as necessary. House supervision on a rotating basis. Completes probation reports, annual
evaluations and submits LATS in a timely manner. Works closely with the Human Resources
Department regarding employee relations and other duties as assigned.
Possession of a
license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York
State; and two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience in an acute
rehabilitation, acute inpatient critical care, or medical surgical setting.
A bachelor’s
degree in nursing can substitute for one year of post-licensure clinical
nursing experience.
