Summary of Duties

Responsiblefor supervising the day to day clinical activities in accordance with current standards,guidelines and regulations that govern the Specialty Care Assisted Living Facility(SCALF) and as may be required by the Administrator/Executive Director to ensurethat quality care is maintained at all times.

Essential Job Functions

1. Provide clinicaloversight to the SCALF.

2. Ensure assessmentsand care plans are updated and completed timely according to state regulationsand Noland policy, and are appropriately communicated to resident, family/staff.

3. Recommendpolicies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions. Implement approved policies and procedures.

4. Assist with thedevelopment, education and assure follow-thru with facility policy andprocedures.

5. Make written andoral reports and recommendations as necessary/required concerning the clinical operationof the facility.

6. Direct behaviorsof employees by use of observation. Takeimmediate corrective action, to include counseling and/or appropriatedisciplinary action when necessary.

7. Develop methodsfor coordination with other resident services to ensure the continuity of theresidents’ total regimen of care.

8. Develop,implement, and maintain an ongoing Quality Assurance Program.

9. Assist theQuality Assessment and Assurance Committee in developing and implementingappropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.

10. Evaluateresidents to determine appropriate level of care of admission, transfer anddischarge, report problem areas and assist with the coordination of thisprocess.

11. Performadministrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations,studies, charting, etc., as necessary.

12. Schedule dailyrounds on all shifts to observe residents and to determine if nursing needs arebeing met in accordance with the resident’s request.

13. Participate inthe interviewing and selection of residents for admission to the facility,including screenings.

14. Make rounds withphysicians as necessary. Schedule physician visits as necessary.

15. Monitormedication passes and treatment schedules to ensure that medications are beingadministered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled withappropriate technique utilized.

16. Develop andimplement procedures for the safe operation of all equipment, including competencyevaluation of employees.

17. Provide care asnecessary.

18. Perform special projects, other duties andresponsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and possess a valid Alabama license as a registered nurse.

Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.

2. Must be able tocope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

3. Must be able toreach, bend, and/or stoop intermittently throughout the work day.

4. Must be able tosee and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to functionadequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.

5. Must be able topush, pull, or move a minimum of 100 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics andassistance.

6. Must be able towalk/stand 75% of the day.
