    Registered Nurse – Surgical Care

     

     

    About the Role

     

    A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its surgical care team. This position provides direct support in the operating room, assisting surgeons during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care.

    While the role is open to experienced surgical nurses, candidates with pediatric surgical or perioperative experience are strongly encouraged to apply, as the position involves supporting pediatric patients in a cardiac and perioperative setting.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Provide intraoperative assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures.
    • Conduct pre‑operative patient assessments and family education.
    • Maintain compliance with infection control and safety standards.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and evaluate patient care plans.
    • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery.
    • Support operating room workflows and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

     

    Qualifications

    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
    • Minimum of 3 years of RN experience in a surgical or perioperative setting.
    • Prior First Assist experience required; pediatric experience preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and operative techniques.
    • Excellent communication and patient education skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
