• Contract Duration: 3 months
• Pay Rate: $80.00 $85.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Day (4x12 Hours), 7:00 AM 7:30 PM; shift start time is 7:00 AM with flexibility to start four hours prior to or four hours after posted start time based on limited critical department need

Job Summary

This is a Telemetry Registered Nurse travel contract position based in Worcester, MA. The position is 48 hours per week and supports a unit that cares for telemetry patients, including surge and overflow patients from the ED. Charting is performed using Epic.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to telemetry patients, including management of chest tubes, spinal precautions, PCA pumps, and epidural care.
• Support surge and overflow patients; some floating may be required within the ED to care for boarder patients.
• Adhere to shift scheduling requirements, including flexibility to start up to four hours prior to or after the posted 7:00 AM start time based on critical department need.
• Comply with all facility policies, including weekend rotation (every other weekend/every other holiday) and holiday RTO restrictions.

Required Skills

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
• Ability to float within the ED to care for boarder/overflow patients as needed.
• Ability to work 4x12-hour shifts at 48 hours per week.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with chest tubes.
• Experience with spinal precautions.
• Experience with PCA pumps.
• Experience with epidural management.
• ACLS certification (preferred).

Education Requirements

• MA RN License required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required.
• First-time travelers accepted.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Onsite position; physical presence at facility required for all shifts.
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend / every other holiday (EOW/EOH).
• Facility allows 1 of the 3 major upcoming holidays in RTO.
• Flu vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions and declinations allowed.
• COVID-19 vaccination: Not required.

Important Notes

• A medication exam is required as part of the in-person orientation. Only 1 attempt is allowed. If the exam is not passed, the contract is cancelled immediately. Study materials will be provided.
• Travelers must be aware of and confirm understanding of this pass/fail exam requirement prior to submittal.
