Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a valid North Carolina RN license
  • Certifications Requirements: BLS certification, Trauma or OR-specific certifications preferred, ACLS (if applicable)
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Level I or II Trauma Center OR, circulating cases, trauma experience with MVAs, GSWs, blunt force trauma, head/neck injuries
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work the 12-hour night shift, strong team player, flexible, and willing to learn new skills

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care by circulating and assisting in OR procedures for trauma and general surgeries, including robotics, neuro, plastics, and ortho cases.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff, to ensure safe and efficient patient care during complex procedures.
  • Maintain sterile techniques and ensure adherence to infection control protocols throughout all surgical activities.
  • Document patient information, surgical details, and intraoperative events accurately in the EMR system (EPIC preferred).
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring readiness for various procedures and specialized cases such as head/neck free flaps and microsurgery.
