Summary
In keeping with Carson Tahoe Health's philosophy, the Department RN Educator works collaboratively with the Nurse Manager to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, document and coordinate clinical educational opportunities for appropriate nursing staff to promote advanced skill levels. The Educator observes staff within the unit for competency demonstration, provides assessment of that competency, identifies educational needs for staff, and provides hands-on training within the Department. The Educator also provides clinical leadership and mentoring within the department.

Float Pool/Clinical Decision Unit/Telemetry Unit/Central Monitoring Unit
Required:
American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for healthcare providers within three (3) months of hire or position entry
NVCI/CPI Training (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) initial certification within six (6) months of hire or position entry
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Certification within three (3) months of hire or position entry
American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for healthcare providers within six (6) months of hire or position entry
ECG Rhythm Interpretation Course within six (6) months of hire or position entry
