Job Title: Registered Nurse

Department: PCU

Status: PRN

Schedule: 6:00am-6:30pm or 6:30pm-6:30am

Summary/Objective

The registered nurse is responsible for providing high-quality professional health care to patients of all age groups cared for in the unit.

Essential Functions

  • Providing timely and appropriate assessments of patient condition.
  • The plan of care is formulated timely and addresses all of the patient's problems and interventions are appropriate for the patient's condition.
  • Recognizes emergencies promptly and responds in an appropriate manner.
  • Takes responsibility for crash cart readiness, and department readiness and is proficient in emergency procedures.
  • Administers medications & IV's timely and accurately.
  • Performs treatments & procedures skillfully and on time as appropriate to the unit.
  • Educates patients & families, and delivers the information on an appropriate level to the individual. Information is complete & documented.
  • Applies knowledge of National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Assures that hourly rounding and assessing is completed.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of fall prevention techniques: identifies patients at risk, communicates risks to other caregivers, reports all falls.

Experience/Education Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Possess current hospital experience (within 5 years) or be a new nursing graduate (within 2 years).
  • Prefer at least 1 year of experience in hospital clinical nursing. Possess a service orientation.

Licenses/Certifications

  • State of Illinois RN license.
  • CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
  • ACLS certification within one year of hire.
  • PALS certification within one year of hire.

Iroquois Memorial Hospital is a 25 bed hospital located in Watseka, Illinois. The hospital facility is comprised of clinical and diagnostic services which are dedicated to providing high quality health care services to the community. These services include but are not limited to an Emergency Room, full service OR suites, an inpatient care unit, therapy services, advanced medical imaging, Home Health, and Hospice Care. The hospital operates rural health clinics in Watseka, IL, Gilman, IL, Milford, IL, Saint Anne, IL and Kentland, IN. The hospital also operates a skilled nursing facility, Iroquois Resident Home, which is attached to the hospital property.
