Unit Description
The Registered Nurse understands and supports the philosophy and policies and procedures of Aspirus. The Registered Nurse Team Lead works collaboratively to produce, nurture and sustain a professional practice and healthy work environment that affords and enhances patient care experience, effectiveness, and efficiency through leadership to multidisciplinary teams, effective physician relationships and a shared vision and dedication to the future of Aspirus. TL has accountability for the overall coordination of all the Registered Nurses and other healthcare providers within a specific department. In collaboration with formal leadership, is responsible for overseeing the functioning of the department, which includes participation in direct patient care as well as ensuring appropriate resources to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
Our unit specializes in caring for critically ill patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing care. Our patient population includes those that have recently undergone heart, vascular, or lung procedures or surgeries. Common patient diagnoses include (but not limited to): Acute Coronary Syndrome, Cardiac Arrhythmia, Cardiomyopathy, Congestive Heart Failure, Hypertensive Urgency, Myocardial Infarction, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Pneumothorax, Pulmonary Embolus, Pulmonary Emphysema, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Valvular Regurgitation.
