Summary:

Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources has an opening for a Registered Nurse at our acute care residential facility in Laurel, MS. The Registered Nurse position would require 12-hour shifts (7p-7a or 7a-7p). This position plays a significant role in coordinating medical services and providing nursing needs for adults suffering from serious mental illness. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in behavioral health as well as a professional and compassionate demeanor. The RN works in conjunction with the mental health care team to provide safe and effective treatment to the consumer during time of crisis in an effort to promote a positive environment in order to return to their community.

West Way is a 24-hour facility opened 365 days per year.

Requirements: Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing requiredMS RN Licensure requiredExperience working in a crisis unit preferredIndependent work ability requiredCrisis de-escalation skills required

Responsibilities: Monitors clients receiving medications.Provides coordination and monitoring of psychiatric schedule.Provides emergency services as needed.Provides general psychotherapeutic nursing and educational interventions to clientele.
