As a member of the health care team, is responsible for the nutritional care of assigned pediatric populations with assistance when needed from clinical orienteer and supervision. Responsibilities include nutrition assessment, implementation of nutritional care plans and nutrition education. Assists with operational functions of the Clinical Nutrition Department. This position is located in the outpatient facility in Woodbridge, NJ.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
Registered dietitian, RD or Registered Dietitian Eligible, RDE with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
If RDE, must become RD within six months of hire date.
Valid NJ driver's license in good standing.
AHA BLS Provider Certification.
Evidence of excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Essential Functions:
Utilizes basic understanding of diagnoses pertinent medical history rational and goal of treatment to provide nutritional care for assigned patients.
Nutritional care includes evaluation of nutritional status, creation, implementation, monitoring and revision of nutritional care plans and provision of nutrition education.
Completes nutritional assessments in a thorough and timely manner as per policy and procedure.
Communicates effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff in oral and written formats in both formal and informal situations.
Participates in nutritional in services and community education programs.
Evaluates and may create educational materials for nutrition education and professional resources.
Coordinates nutritional care with Purchasing, Food Service, Medical and other clinical and administrative departments.
Participates in development, revision evaluation and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Participate in routine duties necessary for department functioning.
Participate in focus audits, performance improvement activities, policy and procedure review and assigned projects which enhance department performance and support the hospital mission.
May guide Dietetic Technician.
May mentor dietetic interns and other students.
Meets minimum annual expected volumes.
