Under the general direction of the Director/Assistant Director/Manager of Pharmacy Services, the Registered Pharmacist provides indirect patient care. The Registered Pharmacist works with nurses, peers, physicians and other members of the healthcare team in the delivery of pharmaceutical services to patients. The Registered Pharmacist reviews the patient’s medication orders against the patient’s medication profile in accordance with hospital and pharmacy philosophy, policies and procedures and standards. The Registered Pharmacist demonstrates leadership/management skills and a commitment to customer service, professional accountability and growth

Graduate from an accredited school of Pharmacy with minimum of a BS in Pharmacy
Current New York registration.
Successful completion of Hospital and Departmental Orientation Program, according to hospital and Pharmacy policy and procedure.
Responsibilities
Dispense medications accurately and ensure compliance with regulations.
Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and safety.
Review prescriptions for safety, interactions, and contraindications.
Manage inventory, track expiries, and coordinate procurement.
Maintain accurate documentation and records for audits and compliance.
Achieve individual and team targets through proactive workflow planning.
Utilize data and pipelines to forecast demand and plan service delivery.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Educate staff and peers on new medications and safety protocols.
Ensure high visibility of work activities through transparent reporting.
Demonstrate continuous learning by pursuing professional development opportunities.
Experience/Qualifications
Licensed pharmacist with active registration and good standing.
Accurate dispensing and verification of prescriptions per regulatory standards.
Comprehensive patient counseling on medications, usage, and safety.
Medication safety reviews, interactions, contraindications, and clinical checks.
Inventory management, expiry tracking, and supplier coordination.
Maintain precise documentation for audits, compliance, and traceability.
Forecast demand using data pipelines and contribute to service delivery planning.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Lead or contribute to staff education on new medications and safety.
Maintain high visibility of work through transparent reporting and metrics.
