The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides specialized respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. This role involves assessing, planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions, operating advanced respiratory equipment, and collaborating with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.RESPONSIBIITIES: Assess patients’ respiratory status and develop individualized care plans. Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy. Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation and advanced airway devices. Perform diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and pulmonary function tests. Respond to emergency situations, including code blues and rapid response calls. Educate patients and families on respiratory care, equipment use, and disease management. Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and patient progress. Ensure proper operation and maintenance of respiratory equipment. Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.QUALIFICATIONS: Current RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Montana licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP). Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred. Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques, ventilator management, and cardiopulmonary physiology. Excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient care skills. Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments and respond to emergencies.
