Schedule
Full-time contract schedule, commonly 36 hours per week for hospital-based assignments.
Shifts may include nights, rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call requirements depending on facility coverage needs.
Job Summary
Registered Respiratory Therapists assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary disorders across hospital and critical care settings. These assignments often require experience with emergency response, ventilator management, and multidisciplinary inpatient care.
Responsibilities
Assess patients with respiratory disorders and implement appropriate respiratory care plan
Administer oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, aerosol medications, and other prescribed respiratory therapies.
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot ventilators and other life-support equipment
Perform arterial blood gas analysis and communicate relevant findings to the clinical team when required.
Respond to respiratory emergencies, rapid responses, and code situations in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff.
Educate patients and families on respiratory treatment plans, equipment use, and disease management.
Maintain complete and accurate documentation while following infection control and patient safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree or higher in Respiratory Care from an accredited program.
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential and active state licensure where required.
Minimum 1–2 years of recent acute care or hospital respiratory therapy experience preferred
Current BLS and any additional required certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP based on unit assignment
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in fast-paced acute care settings.
