As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing specialized care to patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. Youll work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal respiratory treatment plans are implemented. Job Responsibilities
Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy
Monitor and record patient responses to treatment
Perform diagnostic procedures such as pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis
Maintain and operate ventilators and other respiratory support equipment
Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response Team calls
Collaborate with healthcare teams to create and update patient care plans
Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and therapies
Ensure all equipment is sanitized, functional, and complies with safety standards
Education & Certification Requirements
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification through the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
Current Montana Respiratory Care Practitioner license (or eligibility to obtain)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
