Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

WCS Healthcare is urgently seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide respiratory care to medically complex pediatric patients at a pediatric facility in Ossining, NY.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized respiratory therapy treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and the care team.
• Administer bronchodilators, oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and other respiratory therapies as ordered.
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators and other respiratory support equipment.
• Assess patient response to treatment and adjust therapy as appropriate.
• Provide breathing exercises and bronchopulmonary therapy.
• Monitor patients for changes in respiratory status and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate clinical team.
• Document all respiratory care and patient interventions accurately in the EMR.
• Participate in discharge planning and collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team.
• Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment.
• Follow infection control procedures and patient safety standards.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to medically complex pediatric patients.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current New York State Respiratory Care License.
• Current NBRC credential (RRT/CRT) or eligibility.
• Current BLS certification required.
• PALS certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience.
• 6 months–1 year of pediatric respiratory therapy experience required.
• Experience caring for medically complex patients.
• Experience managing mechanical ventilators.
• Pediatric Long-Term Care experience preferred.
• Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills.

Technical Requirements:

• Mechanical ventilator management.
• Bronchopulmonary therapy.
• Oxygen and aerosol therapy.
• EMR documentation ( Extended Reach preferred).
• Infection control and patient safety protocols.

Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM or 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM
• Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities available
• Approximately 12–13 shifts per month
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling available through a mobile scheduling system.
• Schedule includes approximately 8 hours of built-in overtime per month.
• Overtime is calculated after 40 hours per week, not after 8 hours per day.
