Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Job Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, nebulizer treatments, and other respiratory therapies
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory support equipment
• Perform arterial blood gas collections and other respiratory diagnostic procedures
• Respond to emergency situations, including airway management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop individualized treatment plans
• Educate patients and families regarding respiratory conditions, treatments, and home care needs
• Maintain accurate patient documentation within the electronic medical record
• Follow hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety standards

Education, Licensure & Certification Requirements

• Completion of an Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program – Required
• Ohio Medical Board Respiratory Care License – Required
• National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certification – Required
• BLS Certification – Required (may be obtained during orientation)
• ACLS Certification – Required (may be obtained during orientation)
• NRP Certification – Required (may be obtained during orientation)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification – Required (may be obtained within the first year of employment)

Preferred Experience

• One to three years of Respiratory Therapy experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Experience providing respiratory care for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients is preferred
• Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments and workflows
