What You Will Do:
  • Assessment & Care Planning: Evaluate patients with respiratory insufficiencies to determine the correct type and frequency of treatment, developing a tailored plan of care based on their specific diagnosis.

  • Implementation & Equipment Monitoring: Execute the patient care plan while managing, monitoring, and maintaining all specialized respiratory equipment and advanced care modalities.

  • Monitoring & Communication: Continuously monitor, record, and communicate changes in patient condition, treatments, and medication administration based on clinical outcomes.

  • Emergency Response: Serve as an active member of the emergency resuscitation team, responding promptly to all code situations.

  • Patient & Family Education: Educate patients and their families about their respiratory health conditions, while providing resources for community support groups and external programs.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Respiratory Care Practitioner provisional/temporary license will be accepted until license is issued.
  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
