Part-Time Registered Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine

Located in Culver City, ACCESS LA is a referral hospital with 24-hour Emergency services where our technicians encounter all sorts of cases when working closely with some of the most qualified doctors in the country. Add that we have numerous specialty departments and its possible a techs day could involve a Macaw with a broken beak time in one of our many advanced operating rooms watching our Orthopedic Surgeons replace a dogs elbow or operating an MRI. Its a long list of unique experiences best suited to those who absolutely love caring for sick or injured animals in a high-paced renowned animal hospital.

Compensation
Licensed Technicians: $26/hour - $42/hour VTS: $43/hour - $45/hour Pay to be determined by skills assessment

ACCESS Los Angeles is looking for a Part-time Internal Medicine Registered Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.
As a Registered Veterinary Technician, youll play an important role in pets lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests to support services including admitting and discharging patients.
Role Responsibilities
Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care Advocate for pets and educate clients Experience with endoscopic procedures, joint taps, bone marrow aspirates, MRIs, CT scans Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your states Veterinary Practice Act Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments Assist in maintaining relevant comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members
Experience & Skills Requirements
RVT license required Understanding of anesthesia protocols, including pre-anesthetic assessments, drug dosages, and post-anesthesia care Proficiency in monitoring equipment, administering anesthesia, and responding to anesthesia-related emergencies Attention to detail, ensuring precise dosages, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining detailed patient records Desire to offer superior patient care Positive work attitude Flexible schedule
