Waynesville Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and team-oriented Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team!

What You'll Do
As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you will have an active role in patient care and hospital operations, including:
- Assist veterinarians with appointments, diagnostics, medical procedures, and surgery.
- Safely and appropriately restrain and handle patients.
- Prepare patients for surgery and assist with surgical procedures and recovery.
- Monitor anesthesia and provide appropriate patient monitoring throughout procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Collect, process, and submit laboratory samples.
- Perform in-house laboratory testing and operate laboratory equipment accurately.
- Prepare equipment, instruments, medications, and supplies for procedures.
- Maintain and properly care for medical equipment.
- Educate clients regarding medications, treatment plans, home-care instructions, and follow-up recommendations.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients about their pets' care.
- Maintain accurate medical records, patient histories, treatment information, consent forms, and charges.
- Assist with answering phones, scheduling appointments, and supporting our client service team when needed.
- Monitor inventory and help maintain appropriate stock levels throughout the hospital.
- Receive and organize supplies and assist with inventory-related tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary hospital environment.
- Assist with patient housing, feeding, cleaning, laundry, and other daily patient-care responsibilities.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Attend staff and team meetings.
- Follow hospital policies, procedures, and established patient-care protocols.
- Work collaboratively with other team members and assist wherever needed to provide excellent patient and client care.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, Biology, or a related field preferred.
- Approximately 3 years of experience in veterinary medicine.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- A professional, compassionate, and respectful approach toward patients, clients, and coworkers.
- A commitment to teamwork, knowledge, compassion, accountability, and flexibility.
- The ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work at least one weekend per month.

Schedule
This is a full-time position with a consistent schedule. The position includes at least one weekend shift per month. Additional schedule details will be discussed during the interview process.
