    JOB TITLE: REGISTRAR GROUP: Teamsters III - Office Support LEVEL: 16 FLSA STATUS: Nonexempt WORKDAYS PER FISCAL YEAR: 220 HOLIDAYS: 13 SUMMARY: The registrar is responsible for the registration of students and management of student records including grades and transcripts.

    • Maintains current accurate records of students. Maintains cumulative files.
    • Maintains records of students enrolled in special district programs of individual study programs.
    • Enrolls new students. Requests immunization forms and records, evaluates credits, and enters course codes.
    • Maintains records of deficiencies. Notifies staff and students of credits and courses needed.
    • Withdraws students, processes records. Sends transcripts, grades and immunization forms.
    • Registers students for classes. Prepares schedule, builds master schedule, receives registration data, maintains records and schedules. Resolves scheduling conflicts.
    • Receives and processes requests for transcripts, printing, preparing and mailing documents.
    • Gathers data for and prepares reports concerning enrollment, ethnic counts and other data.
    • Provides information telephonically and by mail.
    • Maintains historical records according to District procedures.
    • Performs a variety of general office duties such as ordering supplies, typing, filing photocopying, and answering the telephone.
    • May monitor the work of student office assistants, assigning and reviewing work and assigning grades.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent Two years of clerical work experience

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: AA degree in business or a related field One year of work experience in a K-12 public school system

    CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Criminal background clearance All certificates, licenses, endorsements, permits, and vaccines (absent exemption) as required for this position by state and local authorities

    KNOWLEDGE OF: Principles and practices of records and record keeping State and District regulations governing student records General office procedures Modern office equipment including microcomputers and related software District requirements for graduation Class scheduling School board policies and procedures

    ABILITY TO: Communicate effectively verbally and in writing Operate a variety of modern office equipment including microcomputers and related software Demonstrate keyboarding skills at 55 wpm Maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups in a multicultural and diverse community Attend to detail and follow tasks through to completion Organize work, problem solve and select action plans Remain flexible to changes in assignments or situations Maintain highly complex and detailed student records/databases Evaluate the authenticity, accuracy and completeness of complex documents Advise others regarding highly complex and detailed procedural requirements Comply with school board policies and follow administrative procedures
