General Description:
The Registrar will manage the student registration process across the district, provide administrative support to the Central Office, and assist with data management to ensure accurate and efficient recordkeeping, and that students and families are welcomed warmly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Works with the Office of Information Technology and the Educational Data Analyst to manage student data within the student information system (SIS)
- Registers students across the district (this may include several evenings for meeting with parents)
- Verifies residency and birth records, as well as any other documents required by the state
- Assists with enrollment and scheduling of all students
- Receives, screens, and processes telephone calls, visitors, and correspondence pertaining to student registration matters
- Maintains all official, computerized student records and registrations pertaining to the office. This may include, but is not limited to, entry and certification of data for initial registration, address and telephone changes, guardianship, language, birth certificate, emergency information, withdrawals, transfers, and student absence tracking for incentive awards, truancy referrals, and daily data transmission.
- Obtains SASIDs for newly enrolled students from DESE via the security portal
- Serves as a liaison between appropriate services and newly enrolled students (i.e. Food Services, ELL, Special Education and Student Services, Homeless, Transportation, etc.).
- Coordinates with building stadd to improve the registration, enrollment, and scheduling workflows
- Prepares mass mailings and automated calls
- Provide clerical support to the district Records Access Officer (RAO)
- Provide administrative and clerical support to Central Office staff as needed when not working in the role of the Registrar
Qualifications Required:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with a student information system (SIS).
- Familiarity with MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and Google Apps for Education.
- Associate's Degree or higher.
Preferred:
- Fluent in Portuguese or Spanish.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
