Job Title: Registration Clerk – Float
Location: Salinas, CA 93901
Contract Duration: 3 Months (Possibility of extension)
Shift: Variable (Flexibility Required)
Pay: $25/hr on W2
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact—greet patients, families, and visitors with professionalism and empathy.
- Interview patients or representatives to collect accurate demographic and financial information.
- Enter and maintain patient data in the hospital system with high accuracy.
- Verify patient identity using appropriate documentation.
- Collect insurance details, including Medicare/Medi-Cal, and determine primary/secondary payors.
- Obtain required authorizations and pre-certifications when applicable.
- Prepare and process patient documentation, charts, labels, and ID bands.
- Ensure all required forms and signatures are completed and compliant.
- Review and validate data for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate patient transfers, bed assignments, and system updates as needed.
- Adhere to all federal and state regulations, including Advance Healthcare Directives.
- Maintain a patient-first mindset, especially in high-stress or sensitive situations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in data entry and/or medical office setting.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English).
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Additional Requirements
- Must be flexible with varied shifts and start times, especially during training.
- Ability to adapt quickly and support continuous patient care operations.
