Job Title: Registration Clerk – Float
Location: Salinas, CA
Duration: 3 Months (Possible Extension)

Job Summary:
Responsible for registering inpatient and outpatient visits by collecting accurate demographic, insurance, and financial information. Ensures accurate patient registration, prepares required documentation, verifies insurance, and delivers excellent customer service while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and patient privacy standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, families, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Register patients and enter accurate demographic and financial information.
- Verify patient identity and insurance information.
- Obtain required authorizations, signatures, and insurance documentation.
- Prepare patient charts, ID bands, labels, and registration paperwork.
- Update patient records, transfers, and bed assignments in the system.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
Requirements:
- 1+ year of medical office and data entry experience.
- Experience with patient registration, insurance verification, and demographic data entry.
- Strong computer, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred:
- Previous hospital registration or patient access experience.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and insurance authorization processes.
- Experience with EMR/EHR or hospital registration systems.
