The Mahopac Central School District seeks to fill the following anticipated position for the 2026-2027 school year:
ENL Teacher - Long-Term Substitute
Location - Lakeview Elementary School
Anticipated Effective Dates - 8/31/2026-11/25/2026
Qualifications:
- NYS certification in English to Speakers of Other Languages
- Bilingual preferred
- Flexibility and responsiveness to changing requirements
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues throughout the District
- Provide ENL instruction aligned to students' English proficiency levels, supporting language development in listening, speaking, reading, and writing
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to co-plan and support access to grade-level content
- Differentiate instruction and provide push-in and/or pull-out services based on student needs
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and contribute to progress reports and required documentation
- Maintain compliance with ENL regulations and communicate effectively with staff and families
