Job Description:

The Regulated Goods Coordinator is primarily responsible for protecting the UPS enterprise organization through the enforcement of regulations predominantly related to the transport of Hazardous Materials. The RGC provides training and oversite of UPS Small Package (SP) and Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) Operations, including enforcement of the regulations for the following federal organizations: FAA, DOT, PHMSA, Railroad, Canada Transport, ADR, IMDG, DEA and ATF.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Trains Acceptance Auditors

  • Audits sites and facilities for compliance

  • Investigates and resolves shipping errors related to hazardous materials

  • Tracks and reports non-compliance of all hazardous materials

  • Trains, tracks, and salts employees

  • Owns, supervises and manages all aspects pertaining to the UPS Regulated Goods program

Knowledge and Skills

  • Works a minimum of (3) nights per week to enable effective interaction with acceptance auditors as well as origin sorts for Haz Mat packages, includes walking and supporting operations 5 days per week.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Planning and organizational skills 

  • Project management skills

  • Strong communication skills 

  • Detail and results-oriented

  • Able to work independently 

  • Possesses analytical abilities 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Technology or Environmental Engineering - Preferred

Internal Salary Grade: 20E
