General Job Duties Include
Manage on-premises and cloud environments, including software and hardware configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation, in alignment with New Charter specifications and client requirements.
Complete project work, service tickets, routine maintenance, and escalated technical support both remotely and on-site.
Collaborate with the Design Team on the development, evaluation, and delivery of client scopes of work and quote specifications.
Develop and maintain strong expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure, network operating systems, servers, workstations, backup, email, and related network applications.
Maintain current and accurate documentation for implementations and changes to client infrastructure.
Maintain awareness of insider-threat indicators and follow CUI marking, handling, storage, and destruction requirements in accordance with NIST SP 800-171 and enclave policy.
Follow enclave physical and logical access controls, including visitor escort procedures and multi-factor authentication, to safeguard CUI and enclave systems.
Configure, monitor, and maintain backup and replication routines; coordinate scheduled disaster recovery drills and maintain supporting documentation.
Partner with the Information Security team to remediate vulnerabilities and harden systems in accordance with the vulnerability management program.
Provide timely, accurate status updates to clients, managers, engagement teams, and technical support vendors, including Microsoft, in accordance with company procedures.
Serve as an escalation resource for difficult or complex technical issues and mentor junior Service Operations team members through knowledge sharing.
Follow New Charter and Service Operations policies, standard operating procedures, installation checklists, work-order requirements, and time-entry expectations.
Participate in the on-call rotation and provide scheduled or necessary off-hours support.
Maintain technical expertise through an agreed education and certification program and stay current on industry developments and emerging technologies.
Collaborate on law-enforcement-related projects when voluntarily elected; such work may require additional training and screening consistent with the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy.
Attend company and departmental meetings and communicate client issues, project status, scheduling concerns, risks, and resolutions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience
Associate’s degree or at least 2 years of network design and installation experience; alternatively, 1 year of network design or installation plus 2 years of software development, help desk support, or hardware maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least one industry certification.
Working knowledge of network applications and a network operating system, with demonstrated ability to assemble, configure, support, build, and maintain servers and workstations.
Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2 practices, CUI marking and handling requirements, and enclave access-control procedures.
U.S. citizenship is required; dual citizenship is disqualifying. Candidates must successfully complete a background check/personnel security screening consistent with NIST SP 800-171 personnel-security controls and be eligible for a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
Preferred Experience
Exposure to SIEM and EDR/XDR platforms.
Experience with vulnerability management tooling and system-hardening practices.
Scripting experience with PowerShell or Python.
Familiarity with CMMC assessment activities and NIST SP 800-171 control implementation.
Physical Requirements
Correctable vision and full hearing capability, including the ability to distinguish tones.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and stand and/or sit for up to 14 hours per day.
Ability to effectively speak, read, and write English.
Ability to perform physical field work, including work on ladders and in crawl spaces, attics, construction areas, professional office environments, and LAN/WAN rooms.
Availability for some evening and weekend work and overnight travel.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to New Charter offices and client locations as required.
Ability to travel by commercial airline when necessary.
Ability to follow company dress policy.
