Regulatory & Corporate Counsel, Insurance Services

Tesla Insurance seeks a versatile attorney to join our innovative, fast-growing, technology-forward automobile insurance business. This Regulatory and Corporate Counsel position will focus on corporate and regulatory matters, commercial contracting, serve as a legal partner to the product team, and support compliance work spanning AI, data privacy, corporate ethics, and regulatory filings/ market conduct examinations. This position may also provide support for coverage matters and help manage extra-contractual litigation as needed.

• Advise the business on corporate and insurance regulatory matters, including entity governance, licensing, market conduct examinations and ongoing state insurance department obligations as well as commercial contracts and disputes arising therefrom
• Keep abreast of legal trends and regulatory developments in insurance, including data privacy, AI governance, and corporate compliance to identify potential impact to Tesla's insurance business
• Conduct legal research for internal business clients on a broad range of matters and provide clear, concise, accurate, and actionable legal advice
• Support corporate ethics and compliance initiatives, including policies, training, issue intake and escalation, and risk mitigation
• Advise on data privacy, AI, and related compliance issues affecting insurance products, operations, customer experience, and vendor relationships
• Support insurance regulatory filings, including form, rate, and other department of insurance submissions, and assist with responses to regulator inquiries
• Partner with the Product team to provide practical, timely legal guidance on product design, development, launches, enhancements, and related customer-facing materials
