Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree. A minimum of five years of experience in the management of tax collection, accounting, finance, or administrative operations to include supervisory experience is required.

The RER Section Chief for Audit & Enforcement manages the integrity, consistency, and effectiveness of the Countys Convention and Tourist Tax compliance operations through comprehensive audit oversight, enforcement coordination, and revenue protection activities. This position directs audit, investigative, and enforcement functions related to the Tourist Development Tax, Convention Development Tax, Local Option Food and Beverage Tax, and the Homeless and Domestic Violence Surtax, ensuring compliance with the Miami-Dade County Code and applicable Florida Statutes. The position strengthens operational accountability by overseeing audit methodologies, compliance reviews, tax assessments, and enforcement actions; providing leadership, technical guidance, and support to audit and enforcement personnel; and ensuring adherence to statutory requirements, confidentiality standards, and departmental procedures. In addition, the role is responsible for identifying noncompliant taxpayers, improving compliance strategies through data analysis and internal controls, and coordinating with legal, financial, and regulatory agencies to protect County revenue. The position is essential to maintaining effective operations, enhancing compliance efforts, and ensuring the consistent, fair, and legally defensible administration of the Countys Convention and Tourist Tax programs.
