Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. One year of clerical experience to include using a typewriter and computer terminal keyboard is required. Completion of college coursework may substitute for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis.
Recruitment Notes
This position interacts directly with the department's patrons. Responsibilities include complete and accurate research of microfilmed permit records of residential and commercial properties, including but not limited to the original construction, additions, repairs, and alterations of structure, use, and occupancy that are on file. This is investigative work requiring considerable knowledge of research methodology. Tasks include compiling research of plans that were filed for permit, showing the architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical nature of the structure in response to requests from homeowners, homebuyers, real-estate companies, contracting companies and attorneys.
