Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Two years of experience as an intake worker, customer service representative or other public contact experience are required. Completion of college coursework may substitute for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis.

This is specialized clerical work involving the processing of complaints regarding violations of the Florida Building Code. Employees in this class are responsible for receiving, processing, researching, and maintaining complaints from the public, field inspectors, and other officials. Duties include screening and assisting the public with filing enforcement violations, providing enforcement information, processing daily inspection results, researching and documenting enforcement files, maintaining case logbooks, collecting fees and liens, and performing related clerical tasks. Incumbents exercise judgment in applying knowledge of building and zoning regulations to assist the public, determine the validity of violations, and process enforcement cases. Work is performed under the supervision of an administrative superior, who reviews performance through observations and conferences to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
